Divyang Student Facilities

DIVYANG FACILITIES IN GOVERNMENT ARTS AND COMMERCE COLLEGE, NETRANG

The current Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, uttered the word divyang and coined a new meaning for it. Divyang is a Hindi word which means the one with a divine body part. The Prime Minister said that persons with disabilities should no longer be referred to as disabled persons or viklang. PM Modi in his Mann ki baat address on Sunday 27 December 2015 said, “We see a person’s disability with our eyes. But our interaction tells us the person has an extra power. Then I thought, in our country, instead of using the word ‘viklaang,’ we should use the term ‘divyaang. Prime Minister said ‘ These are people who have a limb or several limbs with divine powers which we don’t have”

  • Keeping in mind the convenience of the Divyang students, we keep their regular classes on the ground floor in the college.

  • Divyang friendly toilets are available for the convenience of the students. Apart from this, for commuting ramps and railings have been arranged.

  • There is also a system of scribe and handicapped tricycle in the college.
